The People Behind IAF

Dr. Alan Early serves as CEO and Secretary-Treasurer of The Board of Directors of IAF. He holds a B.S. in Soils and Agronomy, a M.S. in Agricultural Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Ph.D. in Water Resource Systems Planning and Farm Water Management Engineering, MBA in Technology Management and a Master of Science in Construction Management (focused on factory manufactured low-cost earthquake resistant housing for Indonesian coastal families).

He has worked for 32 years in Asia focusing on training, rural development, water resource engineering and farm irrigation management, mostly working for Colorado State University, The International Rice Institute. Dr. Early created IAF's concepts and methods for Intensive Rice Gardening and Earthquake-Proof Housing.

Dr. Kartiarso serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. He holds a Master of Science degree in Animal Science and a PhD. in Animal Nutrition. Since 1974 he has lectured at the Department of Animal Nutrition at Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia. Previously, he performed as Animal & Agricultural Science Coordinator for the Indonesia Australia Eastern Universities Project and the Post-Indonesia Australia Eastern Universities Project. He currently serves as Secretary for the Communication Forum of Eight Universities of Indonesia and Director of Mekar Asih Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing health care to the poor in West Java. Dr. Kartiarso has vast experience not only in animal husbandry, but also in rural development in Indonesia.
 


Dr. R. Craig Woodring serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dr. Woodring's experience is in training and development in many locations in Asia and Africa including experience in Indonesia.  Dr. R.
