Our goal is to improve the quality of life for Indonesians by concentrating on these five critical areas.

Nutrition: Proper nutrition is essential in order to have the energy to participate and flourish in daily life. The home-grown rice, fruits and vegetables that each family will grow will reduce malnutrition. Micro credit extended to families in order to raise chickens and goats will contribute protein to diets.
 
Health: Using the well-tested, successful concept of mobile clinics staffed with doctors, nurses and supplies, IAF will provide villagers in remote areas with diagnosis and treatment for their medical problems.
 
Livelihood: To improve the ability of Indonesians to make a living and support their families, IAF will develop small-scale, vocational home businesses. Micro credit will be used to extend initial help and co-ops will encourage local participation and cooperation. An important and exciting concept for intensive rice gardening will enable farmers to grow enough rice for a family of 6 on 500 square meters (905 square feet.) Once a family has enough rice to eat, they can be taught how to raise fruits and vegetables to sell on the open market.

Education: Schools in Indonesia are in a sad state. Books are always desperately needed. Many of the buildings are in disrepair and need to be rebuilt or need new roofs to keep out the rain. Also important is teaching children the life skills they need in order to lead a poverty-free life. Teaching children the fundamentals of gardening and raising small animals can break the cycle of poverty.

Housing: Low cost and affordable housing is essential in a country where over 5,000 lives were lost to building collapse during an earthquake. Unfortunately, these types of devastating losses are not unusual. 1.7 Million refugees need immediate housing . Construction/rehabilitation of orphanages, drinking wells, roads and irrigation systems are also part of the mission of IAF.
